In this role, you will work closely with Compliance, Development and QA to design and create content for both internal and external clients.
Typically, you will spend your day determining which issues have documentation impact, researching agency websites for electronic filing and payment requirements, creating and updating help instructions and release notes, and reviewing user interfaces for consistency, accuracy and grammar.
To thrive in this role, you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing requirements and priorities, and set deadlines. You must be able to understand complex payroll tax concepts, and create content that is clear, concise, and targeted for payroll tax professionals, as well as internal clients who support these professionals.

What you'll do:
What you can expect on a typical day:
- Review Issues. Each day you will review issues for documentation impact. You will meet regularly with your teams to provide progress updates, and stay up-to-date with what they are working on.
- Develop/Update Content. You will create and maintain clear and concise content, including help, electronic filing and payment instructions, training guides, job aids, how-to documents, release notes, file import specifications, installation and API guides, and other client-facing materials. Your writing style will closely mimic that of other writers to ensure a consistent voice.
As part of this effort, you will:
- Review compliance changes to ensure that text and messaging is consistent and grammatically correct, and that it adheres to company standards.
- Access websites to research agency requirements.
- 2-3 years of experience in content development
- Excellent communications and editing skills
- Proficiency with common writing tools, including Microsoft Office, and RoboHelp or another help content development tool
Bonus points for these: Preferred Qualifications
- Payroll Tax Experience. Experience working in a payroll tax department, or documenting payroll tax software.
- Knowledge of HTML. A knowledge of HTML code is preferred for developing website and help content.
- Agile Experience. Many development teams are agile. Experience in an agile development environment is very useful.
- Degree in Technical Writing/Communications or English. A degree in one of these disciplines is ideal, but not required.
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. The compensation for this role is $49,400.00 - $132,570.00 / Year
